The Dromedary

There in the budded musk,

Sanded brown at dusk.

Defiant pillars to the winds,

Bountiful strength within.

Alone – in the hot, thick night,

Nought but downy dunes in sight.

There go the silent shepherds,

In their slow, musky herds.

Hail – the dromedary! Creatures quite extraordinary.

Camelus dromedarius, gentle and mysterious.
